Bebe Cool is a multi-award winning reggae and dancehall singer, songwriter and producer from Uganda. A bona-fide hit maker, he is known for successful singles that include Kube as part of East Africa Bashment Crew, Awete, Maisha, Born in Africa, Love You Every Day, Fire Anthem, Kabulengane and Mbozi Za Malwa with Kenyan group Sauti Sol.

Bebe Cool makes his debut on Coke Studio Africa 2017 paired with Falz from Nigeria. He will also feature on a special Coke Studio Africa episode dubbed ‘Global Music Fusion’ alongside the show’s international guest star Jason Derulo and 11 other African stars.


Bebe’s musical career spreads across two decades and is littered with African and international awards. He shot into the limelight in the late 90s with his first single Mambo Mingi that made him a household name and a force to reckon with in East Africa’s entertainment industry. His ability to sing in Luganda, Swahili and English has enabled him to command a solid fan base in East Africa.


Bebe’s versatility and dynamism has seen him release chart-topping tracks every year and perform at sold out concerts wherever he goes. He has won several awards at the Channel O Music Video Awards, Pearl of Africa Music Awards, and HiPipo Awards as well as earning Kora, Afrimma, BET and MTV Africa Music Awards nominations. He was also named a 46664 Ambassador by Nelson Mandela to lend his voice to the 46664 Campaign against HIV/AIDS. He then performed at Nelson Mandela’s 90th birthday celebrations at Hyde Park in London. Bebe Cool’s upcoming projects have seen him collaborate with artists such as Ghanaian star Stonebwoy and Malawian hit-maker Tay Grin.


Born Moses Ssali, Bebe Cool’s music career began in 1997 in Nairobi, Kenya and has oscillated between there and Kampala, Uganda. He was among the first artistes to be signed onto Ogopa DJs, a production house and record label based in Nairobi. Bebe Cool is credited with churning some of Kenya’s biggest records during the 90s, which inevitably pioneered an urban sound that would later influence other stars. Bebe’s blended regional exposure created the springboard for him to captivate the entire African continent.
