RADIO & WEASEL
The award-winning Ugandan duo: Radio & Weasel are a dynamic music group with a wide following in East Africa. The pair are the main performers of the Goodlyfe Crew, who broke into the Ugandan music scene in early 2008 with the song Nakudata. Before long the duo was impressing audiences with their style and danceable songs like Ability and Ngenda Maaso. Radio’s smooth R&B vocals are well complemented by Weasel's dancehall vibes.
In 2011, Radio and Weasel‘s This is How We Do It featuring Keko won Most Gifted African East Video at the Channel O Music Video Awards. The pair are also two time winners for Best Duo-Group and Album of the Year at Uganda’s HiPipo Music Awards in 2014 and 2015. Last year, their song Neera bagged another two awards for Song of the Year and Best R&B song at the same ceremony. They are admired for bagging nominations like Best International Act Africa at the BET Awards in 2013 and Best Collaboration in the song Kiboko Changu featuring Kenyan artiste Amani at the 2014 MTV Africa Music Awards.
They have so far released six albums, and many of their songs have been well received on radio. After Nakudata in 2008, the duo released Lwaki Onumya, Zuena, Nyambura and Bread and Butter. The duo has collaborated with several artistes including Ugandans Rachel Kay and Blu3 and Zambia's General Ozzy.
Moses Radio's music career began at the Holy Cross Lake View Secondary School in Jinja where he served as president of the Youth Alive Club. He joined Chameleone's Leone Island Crew in 2004. While working as Chameleone's background vocalist, Radio released solos under Leone Island Records. Despite his success Radio maintained a low public profile. Weasel on the other hand had several solo projects, but it was his collaboration with Chameleone on the song Bomboclat that caught the audience’s attention.
